That was what I thought would happen to Peter Czerny, and I didn't care. Hollywood has a bad habit of chewing up young, starry-eyed actors and spitting them right out. One drunken wrap party and two gold rings later, I'm married to the bastard and we need to sell a fairytale romance to the tabloids, his legions of fans, and the world.įalling for him in the middle of all this should be out of the question.Īiden. But at least I'd never have to see him again after filming. Too bad the man himself turned out to be rude, abrasive and annoyingly cocky. ![]() I was a working actor struggling to make rent when I scored a part in Aiden Hunt's latest blockbuster. I definitely recommend this read.Įnter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.Faking a marriage should come easy for two actors who hate each other. The characters were well-developed, the storyline everything my HEA-loving heart could imagine, but still entirely realistic with all of life’s ups and downs. VERDICT: I really enjoyed this novel because on one level it was lighthearted entertainment, but it also makes you think deeper about societal issues. QUOTE: “Sometimes when a door closes, you should get some big boards and nail it shut and sometimes you should open that door back up because people deserve second chances.” If you wish to hear more of my thoughts on this, I will be writing an entire post about it next week. At least not one written in the past twenty years. PERSONAL THOUGHTS: I cannot recall the last time I read a contemporary romance with a main character who is waiting until marriage to have sex. That’s actually a question no one can quite answer in the book and in real life, yet Zoe believes it is not just equality but being stronger together. THEME: Due to Zoe taking a college course on Women’s Studies there was a running topic of feminism and what exactly it is. Being only two years old her speech is imperfect, at turns affectionate and terrorizing, and depicted in such an endearing way she can’t help but steal your heart. (Sadly, I have not yet met my own Chase.)ĬHARACTER: Zia is the MC’s baby half-sister who is utterly and completely adorable. I have finally read a book that portrays the same dating issues I have encountered, which so rarely ever happens I almost believe it was written about me. He is smart, respectful, funny, sweet, romantic, sexy as all get out… seriously, I’d marry him in a heartbeat. Chase pretty much is the perfect boyfriend -with the minor exception of having overzealous fans, famous ex-girlfriends, and a few trust issues. ROMANCE: This novel is basically #relationshipgoals for me. So while the cynics among us could never imagine such a situation happening in real life, the story still worked well and pointed out that actors are just regular people with weird jobs. I cannot say I really believe my own twitter account would cause an actor to be intrigued by me, but a girl can dream… and that is likely why this novel was written. PLOT: I absolutely adore secret (or not so secret) relationship-with-a-celebrity tropes. On one hand it works, as it keeps the readers guessing similarly to Zoe, but on the other it feels like it should have Chase’s voice there too. POV: Though I had expected this novel to be told from dual perspectives, it is entirely from the viewpoint of the FMC, Zoe. Will they be able to hold on to their Hollywood love story? When the press gets wind of Zoe and Chase’s secret relationship, their romance turns into tabloid headlines. Chase knows better than to trust anyone from the Internet, but Zoe caught his interest-and her girl-next-door personality is keeping it. Chase Covington doesn’t just respond to Zoe’s tweet, he does the unthinkable: he messages Zoe directly. SYNOPSIS: With one uncharacteristically sassy tweet to her celebrity crush, Zoe Miller’s life turns upside down. ![]()
